Putting an end to the longest running hit-and-run trial in India, a Mumbai Sessions Court held popular actor Salman Khan guilty of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case. Salman Khan may now face up to 10 years in jail.

The actor has been charged with culpable homicide in Mumbai in September 2002 for running over five men sleeping on pavement, killing one. According to authorities, his Toyota Land Cruiser ran over five people sleeping on a pavement in the Bandra area, injuring three of them and killing 38-year-old Noor Ullah Khan.

As the court held him guilty of all charges on Wednesday, social media reacted intensely to the verdict.
