FOOD & DRINK Restaurant Week India
This bi-annual event during which diners get to eat across a selection of fine-dining restaurants at discounted rates is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month. FILM Diamond Queen at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum
Homi Wadia’s 1940 black and white Hindi film Diamond Queen will be shown as part of the Bhau Daji Lad’s Movies at the Museum series of screenings. The film stars Mary Evans, better known as "Fearless Nadia", as Madhurika, a young girl who returns to her hometown after completing her studies in Bombay. There she teams up with local dacoit Diler to fight the villainous Kedarnath. After the screening, filmmaker Paromita Vohra will discuss the movie with Roy Wadia, the grandson of the film’s producer Jamshed Wadia. There is no entry fee.

This "barathon", organised by events company Paprika Idea Labs, is a race in which the first participant to finish chugging a pint of Kingfisher at each of the seven participating bars will win a two-night, three-day stay at the Yab Yum Resort in North Goa. Each contestant will be given a logbook to be stamped by bar staff, who will also scribble in it the time they start and finish their beer. The drinking will start at The Little Door and continue at Lemon Leaf, Brickhouse Cafe and Bar, Woodside, The Irish House, Road House Bluez and Take It Easy. The gig is part of Vh1’s Supersonic series of events to promote its electronic dance music festival of the same name, which is held every December in Goa.
