Three unidentified men allegedly raped a 19-year-old school teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district on Tuesday morning, even as the state administration reels with the backlash from another brutal gangrape involving a Noida woman and her daughter. On Tuesday, the men allegedly dragged the woman into a moving vehicle off the Bareilly-Delhi Highway, while she was on her way to her school. They then took her to an isolated spot in an industrial area, assaulted her and took videos of the act.

According to the woman’s police complaint, the men threatened to upload the videos if she went to the authorities. The woman managed to reach home and told her parents about the incident. Her father filed a police complaint.

According to Outlook, an inspector at the local CB Ganj police station was suspended after the report was made. Top police officials from the district convened meetings with local authorities on how to tackle the case.

On Saturday, a family from Noida was travelling to Shahjahanpur to attend a relative's funeral and had set off from Sector 68 at midnight. They were stopped by highway robbers, who allegedly surrounded their car and forced all of them into a field nearby. There, they raped the woman and the 15-year-old girl. The Uttar Pradesh government received widespread flak after the incident was reported, with allegations that the police had been lax in handling the case.
