The Rajasthan High Court on Friday asked a representative of Skylight Hospitality, a firm linked to Robert Vadra, to appear before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in connection with a money laundering case, PTI reported. Mahesh Nagar had moved the high court earlier this year against summons issued to him by the agency in connection with the purchase of 275 bighas of land in Bikaner district.

The ED had issued the notice under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act to the firm. The ED had not mentioned Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law or any other company linked to Vadra in the First Information Report, PTI reported.

Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal said the court’s directive was not a “personal attack” on Vadra. “We are just saying that if a common man would have bought lands, he would not have been allowed. If he would have purchased, probe would have followed. So, why is he scared of investigation? He should go to the Enforcement agency,” he said according to ANI. However, the Congress party said the latest development was an example of “sheer political vendetta”.
