1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Farooq Takla to stay in police custody till March 28
A special TADA court said it was extending his custody to find out more details about the case.
A special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities court in Mumbai on Monday extended the police custody of Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Mohamed Takla, alias Farooq Takla, till March 28, ANI reported.
Takla, an accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, was extradited from Dubai and brought to India on March 8. Soon after, the Central Bureau of Investigation interrogated him, and a special TADA court remanded him in the agency’s custody till March 19.
On Monday, the special court said that further custody was required to find out more details of the case against him.
During the hearing, the Central Bureau of Investigation asked for further police custody saying it needed time to verify the statements Takla had made during the interrogation. The agency claimed Takla was not cooperating with it, according to ANI.
Farooq Takla sent to Police custody till 28th March by special TADA court. Court observed in its order it feels further custody is needed to go to the depths of the case, it is clear that it was a crime of serious nature.
