Jammu and Kashmir: Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Patel shot dead in Pulwama district
Two security guards accompanying him were reportedly injured.
Suspected militants shot dead Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Patel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, NDTV reported.
Patel, a resident of Dangerpora Shadimarg, was reportedly travelling to Rajpora from Yader when the unidentified gunmen shot him. Two security guards accompanying the Congress leader – Imtiyaz Ahmad Zargar and Bilal Ahmad Lone – were injured, Greater Kashmir reported.
“Heartfelt condolences to the family of senior Congress leader, GN Patel who was killed by militants today in Rajpora,” Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti tweeted. “Such cowardly acts achieve nothing but leave one more family devastated.”
