Well written, presenting a pragmatic view! I'm in Class-12,Humanities & I completely agree with the changes that you've mentioned. I love studying political science, but now the changes that have been brought to the syllabus have left me so conflicted! Specially, the lines “shift from caste and religion based politics to development and governance oriented politics” under the slogan of “Sab ka saath, sab ka vikaas”- this is in the new syllabus of 20-21 (we haven't received any new book yet, except some documents of the proposed content.) I support none of the parties. Vote bank politics have always been carried out in name of caste & religion. And after looking at that proposed content, I wonder whether these are actual facts or manipulative thoughts! I mean common on, the entire India has seen practically what Hindutva means and does! Tbh, seeing these changes in our education system, I recall how Umbridge brought educational reforms in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. If you've read/watch it, you'll surely understand it!
