Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore were handed yet another blow with reports emerging that wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul could miss the entire 10th season of the tournament because of an injury. RCB captain Virat Kohli is already missing the first few weeks because of his shoulder injury sustained during the India-Australia series. Rahul also injured his shoulder during the first Test of the series but continued to play on till the end, while Kohli skipped the last match.

Rahul is likely to travel to England next week to undergo surgery on left shoulder, reported the Times of India. His injury had restricted his strokeplay, but Rahul still managed to score six fifties in the Australia series.

If Rahul misses the entire season, it will be a huge blow to RCB considering he was their third-highest run-getter last season after Kohli and AB de Villiers, with 397 runs from 12 innings. The Karnataka batsman will hope to be fit for the Champions Trophy in England in June. India are then scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for three Tests, five one-day games and one T20 in July.
