Forbes has announced its list of the world's 100 richest people in the field of technology, and Wipro chief Azim Premji (pictured above) and HCL co-founder Shiv Nadar are the only Indians to figure in the list, reported PTI. Both have been ranked among the top 20 on the ‘100 Richest Tech Billionaires In The World 2016’ list.

Premji, with a net worth of $16 billion (around Rs 1 lakh crore), ranks 13th on the list while Nadar's $11.6 billion (around Rs 77,000 crore) has secured his the 17th spot. The only other link the country has to the list are two Indian-Americans – Symphony Technology Group CEO Romesh Wadhwani and Syntel founders, Bharat Desai and his wife Neerja Sethi.

While Microsoft's Bill Gates has topped the list, Jeff Bezos of Amazon is the second richest person in the industry, according to the publication. The United States has the highest number technology tycoons with 51 Americans on the list, and China is the second nation to have the most residents on the list. There are 19 Chinese tech czars on the list, with Alibaba's Jack Ma leading holding a net worth of $25.8 billion.

There are only five women who made it to the list, the richest one being Lens Technology founder Zhou Qunfei in the 33rd spot with a net worth of $6.4 billion. The business magazine said, "Despite a tumultuous year for the stock market, “it was a good time to be a tech billionaire".
