Government will submit supplementary affidavit on black money details
On Monday, the Centre will submit to the Supreme Court the names of Indians believed to have undeclared money in Swiss banks, according to Hindustan Times.  The next day, the court will continue hearing petitions on black money deposits. The list will contain 136 of the 800 names that were provided by European governments and banks to Indian investigators. According to Global Financial Integrity, an American think-tank, Indians have stashed away Rs 28 lakh crore in overseas tax havens from 1948 to 2008.

Uddhav Thackeray to meet Modi, Amit Shah over impasse
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will meet Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on either Wednesday or Thursday to thrash out a deal over government formation in Maharashtra. The sudden change in the Sena's strident attitude to its former ally comes when the Nationalist Congress Party has offered the BJP its unconditional support. Meanwhile, OP Mathur, the BJP official in charge of Maharashtra, said on Tuesday that his party and its allies, who have 123 seats, had garnered 15 independent candidates. The party needs 144 seats out of 288 to attain a majority.

India Will not comprise with Beijing on territorial interests, says NSA
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Tuesday said that India will not compromise with China on the country's territorial interest. Speaking at a conference, Doval said that New Delhi will continue to expand its economic corporation with Beijing, though both sides must sit down to resolve their boundary dispute. These comments were made in the light of last month's incursions by Chinese troops into India along the Line of  Actual Control.

Government to take steps improve ease of doing business in India
On an initiative led by the the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, the Centre will begin implementing steps to improve the ease of doing business within the next three to six months, according to The Times of India. Under these proposed measure, investors will be able to register their businesses with the authorities in one day, instead of the standard 27. The steps taken include an overhaul of tax systems, single registration for all labour laws, reduction in the number of permits required, easing up the process for property registration and quick electricity connections.

Manohar Lal Khattar set to become next Haryana CM
Veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh functionary Manohar Lal Khattar was unanimously elected leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party's 47-member legislature group on Tuesday. After he was elected, senior BJP leaders met Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki to appraise him of their decision to form the government in Haryana. Khattar will be sworn-in as chief minister on October 26 at the Tau Devi Lal stadium in Panchkula.
