1. India and China signed deals worth $22 billion, including deals by the Adani Group, Bharti Airtel and Infosys, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his retinue complete a three-day trip to the country.
2. It's open warfare in Delhi now, with state chief minister Arvind Kejriwal taking away the powers of a bureaucrat and transferring him, which Lt Governor Najeeb Jung declared void immediately. Kejriwal has now asked the President for time to tell him what is happening in Delhi.
3. Modi moves from China to Mongolia today, before heading to South Korea to conclude his East Asian tour.

Weekend Reads: One Year of Modi
1. Modi's own assessment of his one year in government includes claiming he has been targeted for "tireless" work and if this is a crime, he is happy to keep committing it.
2. Less than one in five respondents to a TOI-Ipsos poll said the government's work has been "very good" over the last year, but people are still very positive about Modi.
3. TN Ninan in the Business Standard says Modi deserves some slack and illustrates it with a simple question: Would you prefer another year of Manmohan Singh as prime minister?
