Ever since the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day, the government has been in an overdrive. It has let it be known that it wishes to establish not one but two world records – for the largest yoga class and most nationalities in a yoga lesson. None other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a “coordinated effort, not only involving various ministries and departments, but also with people’s active participation".

Modi has also of course taken the lead to spread awareness on Twitter and Facebook. Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar seems to have taken a leaf from the prime minister's book by doing his bit. So Friday began with a video and photographs of the minister shown to be doing Yoga at his residence on Thursday morning, released by media agency ANI. As the law of unintended consequences took over,  it soon went viral on social media, perhaps not quite for reasons the minister may have wished.
