The Shiv Sena on Tuesday hit out at the Centre after the terror attack at Pathankot air force base, and asked the Prime Minister not to trust Pakistan. An editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamana said that the attack proved that internal security had failed, ANI reported. The article also said that seven soldiers had paid the price for Narendra Modi’s meeting with Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, and that Pakistan has now betrayed Modi. It also said that the Home Secretary could not confirm the number of terrorists at the base, showing the government’s lack of information on the incident.

The party demanded that Pakistan “hand over” Maulana Masood Azhar, head of Jaish-e-Mohammed, the terror outfit believed to be behind the Pathankot attack. The Bharatiya Janata Party ally in Maharashtra also said that Pakistan had destroyed India’s credibility, and condemned Pakistan for the attack, which took place soon after Modi’s visit to Lahore.
