Online on-demand video streaming service Netflix has just launched in 130 new countries, including India. The service is now available across the world, except China, reported Quartz. This makes India its largest addition in terms of population, where Netflix is offering the first month free, followed by plans starting from Rs 500 per month.

The global expansion was announced by the company's chief executive Reed Hastings at the CES tech show in Las Vegas on Wednesday. He also confirmed that Netflix would begin offering HDR (high dynamic range) content later this year, reported the BBC. Before the announcement, Netflix boasted over 70 million subscribers in 60 countries.

In 2016, the company plans to release 31 new and returning original series, 24 original feature films and documentaries, and a wide range of stand-up comedy shows.
