At least 22 people were killed and 100 others wounded in a double suicide bomb attack at an army checkpoint in Homs, Syria. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, there were 13 regime forces among the casualties.

Provincial governor of Homs, Talal Barazi, said two bombers drove up to the checkpoint in a car and detonated their explosives one after the other. The blasts took place in the Al-Zahraa neighbourhood of the central Syrian city, which has been witness to several such attacks before. Most of the city is under the control of Syrian forces, with the exception of the Waer district.
