Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated Make in India week and a centre in Mumbai designed to boost India’s manufacturing sector. Modi was joined by the Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven, Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipilä and other dignitaries at the centre. During the week, Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with foreign leaders, PTI reported. The events are expected to be attended by dignitaries from 49 countries and businesses from 68 countries.

The week’s events are aimed at showcasing India’s manufacturing sector to the world and promoting the country as a manufacturing destination. Seventeen different state exhibitions and several exhibitions from other countries will be featured at the centre. Around 200 different exhibitors are expected at the event.
