Sunrisers Hyderabad rode on a fine performance from their captain David Warner to record a comfortable 15-run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. After batting first and putting up 194/5, Hyderabad restricted Bangalore to 179/6.

Heavy rain delayed the start of the match but when the covers came off, a devastating 50-ball 92 from David Warner, allied with a 38-ball 50 from Kane Williamson got Sunrisers Hyderabad off to an explosive start and they looked set for a score above 200. However, both their dismissals led to a familiar middle-order collapse before Moises Henriques' 14-ball 31 pushed them to 194/5.

Royal Challengers Bangalore faced a tough task and it became harder after Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Virat Kohli for his lowest score of the tournament, 14. Lokesh Rahul gave Bangalore hope with his whirlwind 28-ball 51 while AB de Villiers flattered to deceive with a 32-ball 47, but the South African's dismissal proved to be the turning point.

The Royal Challengers failed to keep up with the asking rate and fell short by 15 runs to record their fourth loss of the tournament.
