Police shoot dead armed man who opened fire at cinema complex in Germany
Officials did not make it clear what weapon the man used inside the building, but no injuries were reported.
An unidentified armed man who entered a cinema complex in Viernheim, Germany, on Thursday was shot dead by the police, reported Reuters. Initial reports said between 20 and 50 people had been injured, but later police told the media nobody was injured. We have no information that anyone was injured," The Telegraph quoted Hesse state interior minister Peter Beuth as saying.
It was unclear whether the man had taken hostages before he was killed. He barricaded himself inside the Kinopolis movie hall before he was killed, German media said. The complex was cordoned off soon after after the incident.
