Echoes of “Eid mubarak” reverberated in overcrowded mosques across the globe, as Muslims gathered to celebrate the festival with fervour. While some celebrated the occasion the previous day, other factions came together on Thursday.

The celebrations follow a series of attacks targeting holy sites during the fasting month of Ramadan observed by Muslims. In Bangladesh, the occasion of Eid was also marred by an explosion on Thursday, in which three were killed and a number of others were injured.
