The Centre has decided that Jamaat-ud-Dawa members will not be given visas to visit Jammu and Kashmir to treat those injured during the recent protests in the Valley, reported PTI. The group is headed by Hafiz Saeed, who is believed to have been responsible for the recent Pathankot attacks as well as the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

"The question does not arise at all. No question of granting visa to Jamaat-ud-Dawah members," a senior government official told the news agency. The statement came amid reports that around 30 members of the outfit applied for visas to visit Kashmir on "humanitarian grounds". The team reported includes 15 doctors and paramedical staff.

At least 47 people have died and 5,500 people have been injured in clashes in the Valley since Hizbul Mujahideen chief Burhan Wani was killed on July 8. On Tuesday, authorities lifted curfew from all parts of Kashmir, barring Anantnag, after 17 days of unrest.
