The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested Aam Aadmi Party member Ramesh Bhardwaj in connection with the suicide of a party activist who had accused him of sexual harassment, ANI reported. Her family had alleged she had suspected that Bhardwaj was being shielded by a senior AAP leader.

A case of molestation had been filed against Bhardwaj in June after she accused him of touching her inappropriately. The AAP activist had consumed poison in her Delhi home on July 19 and died in hospital.

Two other AAP MLAs got in trouble on Wednesday in separate cases. The Income Tax Department on Wednesday raided lawmaker Kartar Singh Tanwar's house, while legislator Rajesh Rishi was named in a police complaint by an AAP worker who allegedly attempted suicide.

Reacting to the arrests of 11 AAP MLAs, party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal (pictured above) took to Twitter to express his displeasure. "It is shameful that Modi ji has diverted entire police from protecting women to arresting his political opponents [sic]." Two other AAP lawmakers were arrested earlier this week.
