KL Rahul's third Test century helped India build a commanding lead over West Indies at the close of play on Day 2 in the second Test at Jamaica. When stumps were called, India were 358/5 in their first innings, with a lead of 162 runs over West Indies' 196.

The 24-year-old was in sublime form through the day, attacking and defending with ease, bringing up his century with a six. Cheteshwar Pujara, on the other hand, played an oddly diffident innings, spending 159 deliveries for his 46 before being run out. Rahul looked set for a double ton, but suffered from cramps after getting his 150 and was dismissed for 158.

West Indies did manage to make a few more inroads afterwards, getting Virat Kohli (44) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3), but Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Saha were still at the crease at the end of the day, with the prospect of the lead touching 200.
