Around Rs 6.4 crore was spent on event management during Narendra Modi's foreign trips: NDTV
The Rajya Sabha was informed that Indian missions spent around Rs 8.8 crore when the prime minister visited 51 countries since he was elected to power.
Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh informed the Rajya Sabha that around Rs 6.4 crore was spent on event management during the 51 foreign visits that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has undertaken since he was elected to power in 2014, reported NDTV. The total amount spent by Indian missions during these visits was around Rs 8.8 crore.
However, Singh did not mention the amount spent on the various elaborate events organised during Modi's foreign visits, like the programme at Madison Square, New York. The event was organised by groups like 'Overseas Friends of BJP' in collaboration with a few NRI associations.
