A new series credited to Harry Potter author JK Rowling, titled Stories from Hogwarts, has appeared on Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles. The series is purportedly available for pre-orders, but an official announcement on it has not been made yet.

The series comprises three books – Short Stories from Hogwarts on Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists and Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide. They are available in the ebook format, and the sites say they will officially be released on September 6.

While details remain sketchy on the series, which appears to be by Rowling's digital publishing company Pottermore, two other books from the Harry Potter franchise have been confirmed by Bloomsbury. Wizarding World A Pop-up Gallery of Curiosities, and Newt Scamander A Movie Scrapbook will be released on November 18 as tie-in books for the film version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Rowling had released the Fantastic Beasts book in 2001.

The releases mark a resurgence of the franchise this year. An eighth story continuing from the first seven Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, was released on July 31, and became an instant bestseller. The book is actually the script of a stage play, for which Rowling created the story along with playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany.
