Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Reserve Bank of India Governor Urjit Patel will attend the annual summit of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in October, PTI reported on Sunday. Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das is also expected to attend the meet, which will be held in Washington DC, USA.

Discussions on global economic events and forces, including exchange rate fluctuations and the implications of Britain’s decision to exit the European Union, are expected to take place at the annual meeting of the global financial institutions. The finance ministers of Brics countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) are expected to hold a meeting on economic issues on the sidelines of the summit.

The IMF will also release its World Economic Outlook, which provides an analysis of the current state of the global economy. In July, it had cut its forecast for global growth by 0.1%, citing an increase in political and institutional uncertainty following the Brexit vote. However, the institution retained India’s growth projection for the next two years at 7.3% and 7.5.
