Six people died after a five-storey building collapsed in Mumbai's Bandra East area on Thursday afternoon, ANI reported. So far, rescue personnel have pulled out five people, including two children, from the debris, while two or three others are still feared trapped.

The National Disaster Response Force was called in to help with rescue operations in Behrampada slum, where the structure collapsed around 1.30 pm. Five fire trucks and ambulances were sent to the spot.

Rescue operations were hampered by the wall-to-wall construction of structures in the densely populated area, according to NDTV. The injured were taken to the nearby Bhabha Hospital for treatment.
