My Twitter account was hacked, chief economic advisor says after tweet links to escort service
Arvind Subramanian issued an apology for the ‘nuisance/offensive tweets’ that were posted.

Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian on Monday claimed his Twitter account was hacked after a tweet advertising an escort service was posted from his verified handle. Subramanian issued an apology for the “nuisance/offensive tweets” that were sent out because of the hacking.
The text of the tweet, which was later removed, read, “Is it difficult for you to find a right partner who will accept any of your crazy desires?” A picture of a scantily-clad woman along with the caption, “Meet by choice, not by chance” was also attached to the tweet. A link, presumably to the website of the service being advertised, was also posted.
Subramanian took over as CEA in October 2014, a year after former Reserve Bank of India Raghuram Rajan left the post to head the central bank. He currently has approximately 43,000 followers on the microblogging website.
Not surprising for chhota Vinod Rai @arvindsubraman who cooks up numbers to show 12K crores saved using DBT. pic.twitter.com/GREm4KHSCI
