Turkish police detain 50 in Ankara bombings investigation
Security in Turkey has been tightened after the double suicide bombings in Ankara last week.
Police in Turkey have detained around 50 foreign nationals in a sweep targeting people suspected of having links with the Islamic State group, after two suicide bombings killed 102 people in the Turkish capital of Ankara. Raids were held in 17 different locations near Istanbul on Saturday, in which the arrests were made.
The Turkish government said that the bombings were probably carried out by a Turkish cell of the IS group.Turkish news agency Anadolu said all those detained were suspected of being connected to IS and had arrived in Turkey recently with plans to travel to Syria and Iraq.
According to Agence-France Presse,Turkish media reports say two bombers have been identified - Omer Deniz Dundar, who has visited Syria twice recently, and Yunus Emre Algoz, brother of a man who bombed the Turkish town of Suruc in July, killing 34 people.
