CBI files report on Congress leader Jagdish Tytler's role in 1984 anti-Sikh riots
The case had earlier been closed after the investigating agency had given him a clean chit, but was reopened last year in light of possible new evidence.
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday filed the final report in connection with Congress leader Jagdish Tytler's role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots at the Karkardooma Court in Delhi, reported ANI. In the absence of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shivali Sharma, Link Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh said the court will take up the hearing on September 28.
The case, which was earlier closed after the CBI gave a clean chit to Tytler, was reopened in November last year after the wife of riot victim Badal Singh claimed that she had fresh evidence against Tytler. On December 4, 2015, the court had asked the investigating agency to re-examine the case and ascertain the authenticity of arms dealer Abhishek Verma's statement that claimed Tytler had tried to influence a witness, reported IANS.
