Huawei, the Chinese smartphone maker, is in the process of designing a phone devoid of notched display, currently in vogue, a report suggests. This will be a full-screen smartphone with the camera within the display screen itself. Huawei aims to achieve this off-beat possibility by having a hole in the display screen for the camera.

According to a report by South Korean information & technology news portal, Electronics Times (ETnews), Huawei is expected to use a 6-inch LCD display panel and make a hole on the top creating a passageway for the front camera for taking pictures.

‘Display notch’ was first introduced by Apple on their flagship, Apple X, and the competitors like One Plus, Xiaomi and even Huawei followed the trend. But now Huawei plans to break-away and take this a notch higher by attempting to develop a notch-less phone with extremely thin bezel on top.

Huawei has been working on this project since the fourth quarter of 2017. And as per the images made available by ETnews, there is a gradual decline of the top bezel, from a thin bezel to a notch, and finally an extremely thin bezel with a hole below it. Though no details on the development of the phone have been officially revealed, but it could be a reality in near future.

The competition to attain full screen display seems to be in full swing with phones like Vivo Nex with its pop-out camera and Oppo Find X being recently launched in the market . Huawei’s attempt to achieve the same will spice up the competition and will come as a delight for smartphone lovers.
