LG Q8 2018 upgrade launched for South Korea with a bigger 6.2” screen, stylus; price, specs revealed
LG it seems is determined to expand its Q-series. The 2018 LG Q8 is aimed at mid-range market and gets enhanced audio technology and a built-in stylus.
The successor to the LG Q8 for 2018 is here! The South Korea-based company has launched the 2018 version of the LG G8 for the home market, offering it as a mid-range phone. The biggest change has to be the massive 6.2-inch screen. Also, it comes bundled with a built-in stylus.
What sets apart the 2018 LG Q8 is its enhanced audio experience, backed by Hi-Fi Quad DAC technology along with DTS: X stereo technology that, the company claims, lends a theatre-like experience even when using ordinary earphones.
The LG G8 (2018) comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 and also packs LG’s Q Lens feature, which uses the built-in camera sensor to analyse the subject and find related information on the Internet. This feature also allows users to read QR codes.
Further, there is a stylus pen that enables note-taking on the large 6.2-inch display and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The upgraded smartphone also comes with a military-grade durable build based on MIL-STD 810G standard and is IP68-certified dust and water resistant technology.
Notably, the LG Q8 (2018) debuts a couple of months after the South Korean company expanded its Q-Series with the addition of the LG Q7, the Q7+, and the Q7a.
LG Q8 2018 price
The LG Q8 (2018) price in South Korea has been set at KRW 539,000, which is roughly Rs.32,900 on conversion. However, there is no word yet on an India launch. The handset will soon go on sale in the South Korea in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue colour options.
LG Q8 specifications
The LG Q8 (2018) runs Android 8.1 Oreo and features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (2160x1080 pixels) FullVision display that boasts an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
The smartphone has a 16-megapixel sensor at the back comprising of a PDAF (phase detection autofocus) lens on top along with an LED flash. LG has provided 64GB of on-board storage that is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. Moreover, it packs a 3,300mAh battery that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
