Yamaha India posted a teaser video for the YZF-R15 V3.0 limited edition on its official YouTube channel. The teaser video showcased a Yamaha motorcycle on a racetrack with MotoGP livery which suggests the India-bound R15 V3.0 could get the similar treatment as well. With the official teaser video out, the motorcycle may arrive in the coming days and the company has called it the ‘call of the blue’ affirming the new paint job for the motorcycle.

The MotoGP edition, which is already on sale in select markets, features Factory MotoGP motorcycle’s blue paint along with Movistar and ENEOS logos. However, unlike the international spec YZF-R15 V3.0, the India-bound model will continue to use the conventional telescopic front suspension instead of an upside-down fork. It was announced that this will be a limited-edition model, though the exact count of motorcycles heading to India is unknown as of now.

No mechanical changes are expected, as Yamaha is likely to make visuals changes only. The YZF-R15 V3.0 will continue to use the same 155cc engine, four-stroke single cylinder SOHC liquid cooled engine with Variable Valve Activation (VVA) and Assist and Slipper Clutch. The engine is tuned to develop 19.3 PS of power and 15Nm of torque. Yamaha claims top speed of around 144 km/h.

The MotoGP edition should help Yamaha boost its sales during the festive season. Yamaha had recently increased the price of this popular 150cc motorcycle by Rs. 2,000, NDTV car and bike had reported. And now the limited edition can be expected to carry a marginal premium over the standard model as well.
