VIP culture rarely fails to get ordinary people angry. Their lal-batti cars shut down traffic, they get to cut lines and sometimes, they even have flights delayed for them.

This sense of entitlement, it turns out, isn't restricted to India. But rarely do ordinary people have the chance to turn their indignation into action. So there's a great deal of vicarious pleasure to be had from watching these passengers on a Pakistan International Airlines plane flying from Karachi to Islamabad on Monday telling a tardy politician exactly how they feel.

Former minister Rehman Malik was set to fly to Islamabad, but he was late and ended up delaying the passengers by a reported two and a half hours. They decided to gather at the plane's doors while the politician was about to walk on.
"My foot VIP is here." "Malik saab, you are not a minister any more and even if you were, we don't care." "We've taken it for 68 years, are we going to take it for another 68?" "You people have to become humans."

Suffice to say that if Malik had actually managed to board, he wouldn't have made it to Islamabad without at least his eardrums being assaulted.

A few minutes later, minority affairs minister Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, who was waiting outside the plane for Malik to arrive, was also chucked off the plane by the irate passengers.
