One genuine Valentine’s Day release and at least potential one guilty pleasure.

MSG The Messenger
He had us at the trailer. Now will the movie deliver?

Originally titled MSG The Messenger of God, this potential stoner favourite stars the Dera Sacha Sauda chief and self-styled saint as himself. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh stuns opponents with stunts and songs and thwarts the evil designs of his enemy who is plotting to assassinate him. The godman has taken credit for nearly every aspect of the movie, writing it, sharing the directorial credit, composing the music and lyrics to being involved in the production design and cinematography. And oh, he dances too.

Roy
Vikramjit Singh’s much-hyped directorial debut stars the immensely photogenic Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor.

Kapoor plays an elusive art thief about whose robberies provide cinematic inspiration for playboy filmmaker Kabir (Rampal). Enter Ayesha (Fernandez), who is also a filmmaker and Kabir’s latest girlfriend. Boasting of hit songs and a slick look, Roy also has an extended cameo by Kapoor, who was last seen on the screen in a leading role in the 2013 clunker Besharam.

Love, Rosie

Rosie loves Alex. They consummate their love. He leaves. She copes. He comes back into her life.

Since “date movie” Fifty Shades of Grey has fallen off the list of this week’s releases targeting Valentine’s Day, the burden of bringing clingy couples into the darkened cinema hall has fallen on Love, Rosie. Christian Ditter’s adaptation of Cecelia Ahern’s 2004 novel Where Rainbows End stars Lily Collins (Mirror, Mirror) and Sam Claflin (Finnick from the Hunger Games films) as the star-crossed lovers.
