The smashing success of movies such as Avengers and Batman in India more than make the case for a super hero cult in the country which the fans have been deprived of, for long. Apart from the ritualistic fan conventions, more popularly known as comic-cons, where stars and fans descend in major cities, there’s really a dearth of superhero entertainment in the country which could soon be fulfilled with a line-up of Indian productions that are already in the pipeline.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan himself is set to lend his voice and looks to an animated superhero TV series for the first time which could debut as early as 2017. For those who can’t wait, however, there’s the Batman vs. Superman movie releasing next year, the trailer of which is already making waves across the world.

According to Bachchan, however, every Indian actor is a superhero.

“I imagine all Indian heroes are superheroes,” he told IANS last month. “They take care of a lot of things. They get most beautiful women, fight 50 to 60 villains at the same time and jump off skyscrapers without a scratch… what more do you want?”

This, however, is not enough justice for the fans who crave Indianised content and their favourite superheroes in action on the home turf. This is probably what explains the long list of satire videos which re-imagine what would popular superheroes do or look like in India.

For instance, Avengers hailing from southern India can be seen finding alternative career opportunities in this video.

There was also this video by YouTube comedian ZaidAliT on what would happen if Spiderman were brown.

Social media too, found ways to kill time on Monday afternoon by imagining what would Indian Superheroes be like and soon the hashtag #IfSuperheroesWereIndian started trending with lots of funny ones making the rounds:
