FILM The State I Am In at Goethe Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan
In Christian Petzold’s German film, released in 2000, a couple that was involved in terrorist activities in the 1970s is setting up a new life in South America. Their daughter is home-schooled, has no friends and has never been in one place long enough to have a boyfriend. Their carefully concealed lives begin to unravel when they’re nearly caught in Portugal. The screening is free.

DANCE FILM Mrinalini Sarabhai: The Artist and Her Art at NCPA Little Theatre
Yadavan Chandran’s 2012 documentary showcases the work of the veteran dancer and choreographer, who set up the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts in Ahmedabad. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker; Sarabhai’s daughter, dancer and Darpana director Mallika Sarabhai; and kathak exponent Gauri Sharma Tripathi. This two-day street food festival organised by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai will feature dishes prepared by 18 chefs from the Suan Dusit International Culinary School in Bangkok. Among the items that will be on offer are tom yum soup, som tam salad, vegetarian spring rolls, chicken satay, green chicken curry, vegetarian rice crackers, stir-fried chicken with basil, khow suey, water chestnuts in coconut milk, longan juice and Thai milk tea.
