Not one to shy away from cameras, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Instagram and Twitter accounts keep the nation up-to-date  with his activities, both at home and on his trip away. This week, his travel album has been brimming over with pictures from his home state of Gujarat, where he has been attending a national summit of top-level police officials.

Far away from Delhi’s political turmoil over corruption allegations against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Modi arrived in the Rann of Kutch on Friday to participate in the two-day conference.

Modi stayed in a tent city in Dhordo in the Rann of Kutch and took long walks on the salt desert with his associates, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh, to admire the breathtaking sunsets and sunrises.  Top police officials from all states across the country with the exception of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh were on hand to brief the prime minister on the challenges in their areas. On the agenda were discussions around terrorism, the threat of Islamic State, cyber security and disaster management.

On Friday, Modi was involved in a host of cultural activities, including folk dances.

“A camel safari was organised for the guests, besides folk dance performance by artistes from tribal district of Dangs, Mer community from Porbandar, garba and other cultural shows,” an official told the Indian Express.  "It was followed by a high tea." The prime minister also met with the spouses of IPS officers.

In the midst of back-to-back presentations by the police officials, Modi took time out to lead a yoga session early on Saturday morning. Eight instructors from the Art of Living Foundation had been invited for the session, which lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Shots of the prime minister walking by himself in the desert did the rounds on social media. One picture in particular amused many viewers, depicting Modi sticking out a cupped hand to make it seem like he was holding the sun.

There was another photo session scheduled soon after breakfast with over 100 police officers.

According to some reports, the Intelligence Bureau ordered all officers at the conference to catch a glimpse of at least one sunrise or sunset while they are in the serene Rann of Kutch.
