PHOTOGRAPHY Figures in Time: Bourne & Shepherd at Exhibit 320
As part of its tenth anniversary celebrations, Tasveer, a Bangalore-based organisation that promotes contemporary photography, will present an exhibition of portraits and landscapes by nineteenth-century English photographers Samuel Bourne and Charles Shepherd. The duo ran the Bourne and Shepherd photographic studio in Calcutta and were known for their photographs of India in the second half of the nineteenth century. TALK & PHOTOGRAPHY Sachchidanand Sahai at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts
Sachchidanand Sahai, a specialist on the Khmer civilisation and advisor to the Government of Cambodia on the restoration of the ancient Hindu temples of Angkor Wat and Preah Vihear, will deliver a lecture titled "Angkor: Shared Cultural Heritage of India and South East Asia". An exhibition of photographs of Angkor will also be displayed in the gallery outside the lecture room. There is no entry fee.
When: The talk is on Friday, June 3 at 4.30 pm. The exhibition runs from Friday, June 3 to Saturday, June 11, from 10 am to 6 pm.

MUSIC Ustad Amir Khan Sangeet Samaroh at Muktadhara Auditorium
The Kalashri Foundation, an organisation that provides a platform to young Hindustani classical musicians, will pay tribute to the legendary Hindustani classical vocalist Amir Khan of the Indore gharana. Friday evening opens with a vocal recital by Rama Sundar Ranganathan, followed by a violin concert by Anupriya Deotale. The programme on Saturday will feature vocal recitals by Manish Trikha, Mandhar Gadgil and Iqbal Ahmed Khan of the Delhi gharana. There is no entry fee. See the Facebook page for more information.

THEATRE Summer Theatre Festival at the Shri Ram Centre
The festival will feature three plays this weekend. On Friday, watch Nayana Sagar’s English version of French playwright Yasmina Reza’s Tony award-winning play God of Carnage about two sets of parents who meet to discuss a fight between their sons that took place on a playground. On Saturday, watch Chitra Singh’s Hindi nautanki style play Karmev Dharmah, a tale of three characters whose paths cross as they try to find meaning in their work written by Jayvardhan. And Sunday will feature KS Rajendran’s Dance Like a Man, playwright Mahesh Dattani’s English drama about the thwarted ambitions and conflicts that arise between two bharatanatyam dancers married to each other. FESTIVAL 8th Annual EcoFestival at Oxford Bookstore

FILM European Union Film Festival at the British Council
The three week-long film festival organised by the delegation of the European Union to India will continue at locations across the city through the month of June. The line-up features movies from 24 EU countries. On Friday at 6.30 pm, the 2013 Latvian film Mother, I Love You (Mamu, Es Tevi Mīlu) directed by Janis Nords, in which a 12-year-old boy embarks on a life of crime that he tries to hide from his mother, will be screened at the India International Centre. On Saturday at 6.30 pm, Jack, a 2015 Austrian film directed by Elisabeth Scharang, about real life serial killer Jack Unterweger will be shown. Yannis Sakaridis’s 2013 Greek movie Wild Duck, which is about a bankrupt telecoms engineer roped into investigating a phone-hacking scandal, will be screened on Sunday at 6.30 pm. ART The Garden Underground at Jor Bagh Metro Station
Three photographers are exhibiting images of gardens inside the metro station: Tom Clancy, a lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire in the UK, explores the history of the human-plant relationship in his photographs; Bangalore-based environmental photographer Arati Kumar-Rao’s works capture the unique desert garden around the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur; and Delhi travel photographer Juhi Saklani’s set focuses on labourers who work in public gardens.
