FILM MUSIC Soz: A Ballad of Maladies at the NCPA Little Theatre
Tushar Madhav and Sarvnik Kaur’s new documentary Soz: A Ballad of Maladies will be shown by the National Centre for the Performing Arts as part of their Reality Check series of screenings, organised in association with the Indian Documentary Producers’ Association. The film, which has been produced by the Public Service Broadcasting Trust, is “a portrait of different cultural practitioners in Kashmir” from artist Showkat Kathju, cartoonist Mir Suhail and poet Zareef Ahmad Zareef to rapper MC Kash and rock band Parvaaz, “who have turned their art into weapons of resistance during a period of heightened state repression”.
