Kaun Banega Crorepati has entered its 12th season this year. The Amitabh Bachchan hosted quiz-based show, which first aired two decades ago, has so far changed several fates over the years, and its brand-new season continues to successfully take forward that legacy.
Recently, KBC announced the first crorepati of the season, Nazia Nasim, a communications manager from Delhi. Unfortunately, Nasim was unable to correctly answer the final question opening the doors to 7 crore rupees. However, a recently released promo of the show reveals the season’s second crorepati, IPS Mohita Sharma. In less than a week, KBC has found its second crorepati, a determined officer on the hotseat now playing for 7 crore rupees.
Currently posted in Jammu as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Bari Brahmana, Samba, Mohita Sharma aspires to become the National Security Advisor someday, and be an inspiration for women to pursue IPS. Participating in the show was her husband’s dream, who had been trying to get selected since season 1. He requested Sharma to get registered, and luckily, she got selected. One of the reasons Sharma has behind participating in KBC is to raise awareness about educating females. Her parents firmly believed in ‘beti bachao, beti padhao’, something Sharma aims to convey to the country through the show and encourage women to take the leap of faith and pursue their dreams. She also wants to request people to respect to the police force and give them due credit for their round the clock hard work, and correct any misconceptions people may be having about them. Sharma opines that no matter how much money she may win on the show, what matters is putting up a good performance and making the nation proud. She says that the uniform is her identity and throughout her service, she has strongly abided by and believed in the law, and treated citizens with dignity and respect.
Here’s a sneak peek into Sharma’s life so far, her vision and moment of glory on KBC season 12.
Will Sharma be the first ultimate winner of KBC Season 12? Watch out in the upcoming episode of KBC on Sony TV, tonight at 9PM, wherein the officer takes the hotseat and faces the game’s final leg.
