As the 2016 European Championship gets into the thick of the action with the knockout stages, transfer deals and speculations are still happening in the background. Expectedly, the number of done deals are not very high as many of the players are still playing in the Euros.

The rumours are running amok, though, with star names thrown in alongside exorbitant fees. Let's see who is making all the headlines. Here are some of the major completed transfers and top transfer rumours from the past week.

Done deals:

1. Alvaro Morata – Juventus to Real Madrid for £23 million

Real Madrid activated a clause in Alvaro Morata's contract to bring him back to the club from Juventus. The Spanish side sold the striker to their Italian counterparts in the summer of 2014, but had inserted a clause which would allow them to get Morata back for a pre-determined fee. But this doesn't necessarily mean he will pull on the famous white shirt for the 2016-17 season. Reports in England and Spain suggest that Real may sell him to one of many English Premier League clubs that are interested for a substantial fee. Wherever he ends up playing, Morata has the potential to succeed.

2. Victor Wanyama – Southampton to Tottenham for £11 million

The Kenyan midfielder signed for Tottenham Hotspur from Premier League rivals Southampton. He has followed manager Mauricio Pochettino, who himself left the south coast of England to head to north London back in 2014. Wanyama is a powerful presence in the midfield and has been playing in the Premier League since 2013. Tottenham are certainly getting an experienced player, who is still only 25 years of age.

3. Sadio Mane – Southampton to Liverpool

Liverpool's annual visit to Southampton's first team seems to be going ahead smoothly. They are very close to signing Sadio Mane for a fee above £30 million, according to various reports. Mane could have his medical on Monday itself, which means the transfer could be completed and formally announced anytime this week. Mane was a transfer target for Manchester United last summer, but Jurgen Klopp seems to have acted fast to get him to Merseyside club.

Rumours:

1. Neymar – Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain/Manchester United/Real Madrid

While Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo seem content to be where they are, that is not the situation for Neymar. The Brazilian forward has had three successful years at Barcelona, but there is always news about his future every other week. Neymar wants a salary close to Messi's, but reports suggest Barcelona cannot allow both players to earn that high. This has interested the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Real Madrid. The fee in question is around £150 million. Exorbitant to say the least.

2. Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal to Manchester United

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is having a good Euro 2016 for Wales. This and his not-so-clear future at the north London club has generated rumours that Jose Mourinho wants him at United. The fee is reported to be in the £50 million region. While Mourinho would like to get another one over Arsene Wenger, the Frenchman would not want to be selling to the Portuguese.

3. James Rodriguez – Real Madrid to Manchester United

If Mourinho is involved, expect the unexpected. James Rodriguez is another high-profile player to be linked to Manchester United as he has on more than one occasion expressed displeasure at being on Real Madrid's bench. While it is hard to see why Mourinho is interested in a player who doesn't track back regularly as he wants most of his players to do, Rodriguez's offensive quality is there for everyone to see.

4. Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal to Juventus

Alexis Sanchez has been a hit among Arsenal fans ever since he signed on in 2014. His boundless energy and willingness to work for the team alongside his explosive attacking game is something almost every team would want. Despite his individual success at Arsenal, reports suggest Sanchez isn't content with just finishing in the UEFA Champions League places. Juventus are keen on the Chilean, who already has good experience of playing in the Serie A.

5. Andros Townsend – Newcastle to Liverpool/Everton/Southampton

Liverpool have been reported to be interested in signing England winger Andros Townsend from Newcastle. Townsend was bought only in January as Newcastle tried to stay in the Premier League. But having been relegated, they might not have much option but to let go the highly inconsistent yet mercurial winger. Apparently there is a £10.5 million buy-out clause in his contract. Other Premier League clubs such as Southampton, Everton, Stoke, Watford, Swansea and Crystal Palace also reportedly want Townsend in their ranks.

6. Leonardo Bonucci – Juventus to Chelsea

The Italian defender has generated a lot of positive reviews after his starring displays for the national team in Euro 2016 so far. While his defending has always been lauded, his ability to start attacks from the back with his passing and long-field crosses are something every manager would love. Enter Antonia Conte, his national team coach, who will take over at Chelsea after the Euros. Conte wants his own men at Chelsea and Bonucci would seem to be a very good addition.

7. Julian Draxler – Wolfsburg to Manchester United

Manchester United seem to be in the news for new additions more than any other club at the moment. Julian Draxler has been a target for various clubs for a few seasons now. The winger/attacking midfielder is versatile and is currently starting for world champions Germany at Euro 2016. Still only 22 years of age, Draxler will be hitting his peak in the next few years and it is this the other clubs want to gain from. Wolfsburg may not want to part with their prized asset, but may be resigned to sell him if the right offer is made.

8. Andre Schurrle – Wolfsburg to Borussia Dortmund

Another German making the transfer rumours is Andre Schurrle. He is also from Wolfsburg. This time it is Borussia Dortmund who are interested in getting the World Cup winner in their squad. If Manchester United sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Dortmund, the German club would have enough funds to sign Schurrle.

9. Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon to Arsenal/West Ham United

Arsenal and West Ham United are keen on French forward Alexandre Lacazette. The Lyon player didn't make it to France's squad for Euro 2016 and could be signed before the tournament ends. The fee is reported to be around £45 million. This could rule out West Ham and leave Arsenal to sign him. But Wenger has signed only one player who cost above £40 million and that is Mesut Ozil. This one might go down to the very last days of the transfer window.

10. Leroy Sane - FC Schalke to Manchester City

German players seem to be the flavour this time around. Leroy Sane is wanted by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, if reports are to be believed. Schalke may part with the 20-year-old winger for a fee of £30 million. A chance to work with Guardiola may not come that often. So, if a bid is made, Sane could be in the Premier League for the 2016-17 season.
