How badly does José Mourinho want Paul Pogba?

The English club has reportedly been asked to dig into their coffers further as they attempt to woo the French midfield maestro with a world record offer. The Red Devils have submitted an offer worth £92 million, and wages that will see the 23-year-old pocket a whopping £11 million a year.

The salary demands have been reportedly met by the 20-time English champions. However, the Bianconeri continue to play hardball over the fee, and have asked United to increase their €120 million offer, including add-ons, by a further €10 million, reported The Guardian.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola will reportedly pocket around 20 per cent of the initial fee, which will be paid by United in full. Regarded as one of the best all-round midfielders in the world, Pogba is a livewire of vision, energy, and muscle in the middle of the park, and one of the most decorated midfielders in the world.

Pogba's association with United dates back to the start of the decade, as he jumped ship from Le Havre in France to Manchester as a 16-year-old in 2009. He was, however, released as a free agent by the Red Devils two years later, only to be scooped up by Juventus.

The Pogba saga started even before the 2016 European Championship, where the long-legged playmaker spearheaded France's quest for glory, taking them to the final. However, his performance in the final against winners Portugal was heavily criticised.
