Eighteen-year old Aditi Ashok could not build on the two good rounds of 68 that she had carded on Days 1 and 2, and shot a 79 on Day 3, resulting in an overall score of 2-over-par 215, leaving her languishing in a tie for 31st place.
The warning signs were there for the Indian when she could only manage two bogeys and a birdie on the par-35 front nine. But the par-36 back nine proved to be Ashok's undoing on Friday as she dropped seven strokes.
Two double bogeys on the 15th and 18th put paid to any hopes that the Indian would have had of finishing on the podium. It is important to remember, though, that the World no. 462, only 18, played a wonderful opening 36 holes.
Inbee Park of South Korea remained on top of the leader park at 11-under-par, with World No. 1 Lydia Ko of New Zealand a further two strokes behind at 9-under par.
Saturday is the fourth and final day, with the standings being determined on the basis of the cumulative score of all four days.
