Bengaluru FC became only the third Indian club to make it to the semi-finals of the Asian Football Confederation Cup after drawing 0-0 with Tampines Rovers away in Singapore on Wednesday. BFC went to win the two legged-tie with an aggregate score of 1-0. Dempo in 2008 and East Bengal in 2013 were the only other Indian sides to have made it to the last four of the AFC Cup.

Both teams failed to score in a first half, where the hosts saw the majority of possession but could not convert it into goals. Bengaluru, though, created the better chances as Eugeneson Lyngdoh almost scored from CK Vineeth's headed cross.

Tampines cranked up the pressure in the second half as they went closer and closer to scoring, floating dangerous balls into the box. Lyngdoh had a good chance to get a shock goal for the visitors as Sunil Chhetri's chipped pass found him in the box, but he was unable to get any power behind his shot and the Rovers' keeper comfortably pouched it.

Lyngdoh then hit the base of the post in extra time, as Bengaluru looked to seal their place in the next round. The visitors hung on to claim a gritty draw on the night and progress to the next round.
