Board of Control for Cricket in India president Anurag Thakur categorically stated on Friday that India would not resume ties with Pakistan after a militant attack on an Indian Army base in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.
"Priority is to expose Pakistan as country which sponsors terrorism. No question of playing cricket with such a nation," Thakur said.
This is not the first time that bloodshed from the border had suspended ties between India and Pakistan. Thakur voiced a similar opinion when the two nations were slated to play a series late last year.
Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev shot back at a journalist a few days ago when questioned about Pakistan's absence from the Kabaddi World Cup, which begins on October 7. The World Cup winning skipper had questioned the journalist, saying, "If you are a Hindustani, you should not ask the question at all".
