The big news: India dominate Day Three
After New Zealand were in the driver’s seat on Day Two of the first Test match in Kanpur, India took the fight to the Kiwis on Day Three. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took nine wickets amongst themselves to bowl New Zealand out for 262.
Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara then brought up their second century stand of the match as India took complete control of the Test match. The only flaw in the Indian performance was the wicket of KL Rahul, who was out after scoring a brisk 38. After his wicket, Vijay and Pujara stood firm and did not lose any more wickets during the day. They ended the day on 159/1 with a healthy lead of 215 runs.
