India continued their road to recovery in the Kabaddi World Cup with yet another resounding win, hammering Bangladesh 57-20 in what was a solid all-round display. India's star-studded team was imperious during the raids and in defence. Ajay Thakur (10 raid points) and Pardeep Narwal (8 raid points) starred for India in Ahmedabad. With the win, India leapfrogged South Korea to top Group A.
Bangladesh were standing toe-to-toe against India in the early stages of the game, and the two teams were locked at 4-4 at stroke of the first timeout. From that point, Bangladesh were blown out of the contest as Pardeep Narwal, Manjeet Chillar, Surjeet Narwal and defender Dharmaraj Cheralathan came to the party to help India go on a point-scoring spree.
It was Pardeep Narwal who opened the floodgates in the early stages of the first half, and India never looked back from there, effecting two all-outs before the half-time whistle, where India led 27-10.
Ajay Thakur took his time getting into the game and was influential with his raids, showing tremendous footwoork and strength as he reached double figures on raid points. India effected a third all-out before the end of the game. For Bangladesh, Arduzzaman Munshi was impressive, picking up five raid points. India's next group game will be against Argentina on October 15th.
