The top story: Spanish giants lead rout

Barcelona shrugged off their indifferent start to the season, posting a 4-0 win against Deportivo la Coruna in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday. Lionel Messi scored during his comeback game while the Catalan giants' fierce rivals, Real Madrid enjoyed a bigger win, smashing Real Betis 6-1 away from home. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the sixth goal for Los Blancos but it was Isco who was the star of the show with two goals.

However, it was Atletico Madrid who were the biggest victors over the weekend after posting a 7-1 win against Granada. Yannick Carrasco led the rout with a hat-trick.
