Manchester United’s Paul Pogba scored twice in a 4-1 Europa League victory against Fenerbahce at Old Trafford on Friday. Pogba hit one from the penalty spot before firing an impressive strike into the top corner for his second in one of the midfielder’s finest displays in the Red jersey. Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard also scored one goal apiece to make it 4-0 for the hosts, before former United striker Robin van Persie hit a late consolation goal for the visitors.

United, with Wayne Rooney back in the starting lineup for the first time since September 21, had a slow start but raised the tempo of the game once Pogba found a breakthrough. Soon after, it was a Manchester United show with a pleased Jose Mourinho looking at his team put up a clinical display of football. The victory for the Red Devils sees them move up to second in Group A, leapfrogging Fenerbahce in the process, who they now lead by two points.

Brief score:

Manchester United 4 (Paul Pogba X 2, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard) beat Fenerbahce 1 Robin van Persie
