Kerala Blasters were held to a goalless draw by defending champions Chennaiyin FC in Kochi on Saturday. Kerala were coming off a 2-1 win against FC Goa five days ago and looked to have momentum in their favour in the early stages of the match.
The Blasters were on a roll picking up eight points from their last four matches after losing their first two games.
Coined as the Southern Derby, Kerala were looking for their second win in seven attempts against the defending champions.
But, on Saturday, neither side were close to scoring as they played out a dull draw in front of a sold-out crowd. Eventually, both teams went away with a point each. Chennai remain in the top four with nine points in 6 games while Kerala are fifth with nine points in seven games.
